Joel Jacobs is a professional percussionist from London, Ontario. Although he attended Humber's Music Program to specialize in Jazz percussion, Joel has studied almost all percussive forms - making him a very versatile drummer who can apply his formal training and knowledge to both the drum kit and hand drums. At the age of 18 he was the lead percussionist for the London Concert Band and, since then, he has gone to succeed as a session drummer and performer for a variety of Ontario bands, DJs and musicians. This includes, but is not limited to, the Light of East Ensemble, Final Legion, DJM, Combat Frogs, the Scott Szeryk Band, the Whiskey Sinners, as well a variety of blues and jazz ensembles throughout South Western Ontario. He is also a popular drum teacher in London, and has been teaching percussion for the past four years after having studied under Brian McHugh as a teenager. He currently does session drumming for Studio 32 in London, ON.
